Eh. Pikmin was... I don't know how to describe it. It wasn't hard, but I never figured out what to do. I went all 30 days doing nothing that I was supposed to do. I think. Then I never played Pikmin 2, but my guess is that it's the same.

Pikmin 2 is completely different to the first.
There's no limit on the number of days, for starters. Then there are dungeons to explore as well as the overworld.
But without wishing to be too mean, if you didn't know what to do, that's really your fault, not the game's. Pikmin is basically a real-time strategy game, and plays as such. Did you even read the manual or the in-game instructions telling you what to do?

I knew perfectly well what to do. It was the matter of not being able to do it. Mainly because the enemies kept eating my Pikmin and making my numbers smaller so when I did find a part I couldn't pick it up and by the time I had enough Pikmin I couldn't find the part again.

If you couldn't defeat enemies properly than I would counter that you in fact didn't know what you were doing, at least gameplay-wise.

Well to be fair it wasn't just that I sucked at it, it was also that I didn't find the game very apealing.

Also I looked at game play for Pikmin 2. It's the same exact thing as Pikmin 1, but with no time limit.
