Wikia Gaming launched late last night, a collection of game-related wikis with over 250,000 articles at launch. The largest single site section is World of Warcraft, which has a collection over over 43,000 articles in tow. The parent company, Wikia, has raised over $14 million in capital from Amazon and Bessemer, and delivers over 250 million hits a month.
This is a good repository for all things gaming, and should be a valuable resource for those of us who do a lot of research on the topic. We can't wait, however, to see some of the patently false rumor that gets written, as is always the case with a wiki. It's just some of the most fun stuff on the internet to read.
