Possibly, I see people espiecally average PC users who just need a computer for school, office work, web browsing, e-mail, and other daily tasks buying fewer stand alone monitors since All-in-one desktops with a 20 inch flat panel monitor built-in to the desktop can be bought for around $400 or less like the HP Pavilion 20 inch b010 All-in-One Desktop which is good enough for most tasks, and playing non-intensive games like Counter Strike, Half-Life, Doom, Minecraft, flash games, etc.

People also save time setting up All-in-ones since you just need to plug it into the wall power, and login to their wi-fi wireless internet to get online instead of also plugging in a monitor, speakers, and other accessories.

A lot of people are also buying laptops, and tablets which are also all-in-ones because everything is built-in to the computer's case, and does not require extra accessories like a monitors which can add to the price of owning a PC.

I went to Best Buy today, and I saw very few monitor and tower combos. I saw mostly a single monitor with a built in desktop. It's like all the PC companies want to copy Apple. >_>

When I went to Bestbuy there were mostly laptops, tablets, and All-in-one desktops built-in to monitors. I didn't see many monitors for sale as well. I think there wasn't even a section dedicated to monitors or tower desktops.

Wal-Mart seems to be the same. They have laptops, iPads, and Android Tablets, but they only have 1 desktop they sold which was outdated in the electronics section, and seems like they just want to sell it, and not sell desktops anymore.

I'm guesing PC makers make more money by just selling monitors with built-in desktops because they are lighter, so they cost less to mail to stores, use less parts since the monitor can share parts like the power adapter, case, and ON buttons with the built-in desktop like laptops, and fewer workers are needed to buid them than a monitor and tower desktop combo.

I read online some of the Monitors with built-in desktops uses laptop parts which can be cheaper because many of the parts like the video card, sound card, and, CPU, etc are built-in to the main circuit board for All-in-Ones.

I bet, Most average people who buy tower computers only buy them to replace their current computer which is broken, but their monitor still works, but people who own a heavy tube monitor, and need to replace their aging/broken desktop or don't own a desktop more likely buy an All-in-one since it is cheaper or the same prive than buying them both seperately. People who only used laptops, and tablets might feel more comfortable with an All-in-One PC since it looks like a laptop or tablet on a stand, and some All-In-One's monitors have touchscreens built-in.

I bought a tower and monitor a few years back and regret it. I upgraded it, but I can't even use it now. I'm just gonna get a Mac. They're much more convenient than towers.

Another thing is that people barely use their monitors nowadays, a lot of the people that buy desktops replace their monitors with a 32" or 42" Flatscreen TV.

I know there are apps and hacks/mods which let you use the screen on an iPad, and Android tablet as a monitor as well, so if you don't mind typing on a 10-13 inch screen than you can save money by using your tablet's screen.

Who, exactly, likes having no graphics card?

Because, even though most PCs now are just the monitor, you must realize that these systems are usually sold with integrated graphics. Terrible performance.

Integrated graphics can be good enough to play older games, and games like Minecraft. Windows Surface 8 Pro tablet uses Intel HD 4000 Integrated graphics, and can play many 3D games at low to medium videosettings.

A lot of people their computer mostly for watching DVDs, YouTube, Facebook, flash games, and other similar or more basic tasks where integrated graphics like the Intel HD 4000 on All-In-Ones, and Laptops are good enough for their needs.
