Will Mario Kart Wii U be out in 2013 or 2014?

Mario Kart 7 came out just 8 months after the 3DS did, so if the Wii U comes out this holiday season, does that mean we'll see a Wii U version midway through 2013?

And when we do, what stuff do you want in the almost inevitable Wii U Mario Kart game? What tracks, characters, items, etc?

that was because they couldnt figure out what system was best for it.
I think it will be out in 2014

It doesn't matter to me. Whenever seems fine. As long as we see it. And as long we make it pass 12/12/12.

I can't even fathom the idea of it coming anytime soon, much less a timeframe for when it will. Has it even been announced in development?
 
I'm only going to say one thing in regards to characters. Paratroopa.

Well whatever the case and whenever it comes out, I'm hoping for a HUGE character roster and a LOT MORE TRACKS. We're talkin' about 10 Battle Mode arenas and at least 16 Cups here before I'm happy. But knowing Nintendo, it'll be 8 Cups. And a random number of Battle Mode arenas that doesn't go past 8.

Included in those Cups are two Rainbow Cups, featuring every single Rainbow Road track from the series.

Why would you compare Mario Kart with Pikmin? Mario Kart is a major franchise (one of the bestselling and most popular, too) and it has been released on every Nintendo console since Super Nintendo!

I am all but positive we'll have Mario Kart for the Wii U some time in 2013, for the holiday season 2013 at the latest.

IT wasn't released on the Game Boy Color or Virtual Boy lawlz (Every console since SNES)

Anyway..... the average time between each Japanese release of the 3DS is 1172.5 days
Therefore, as an average-based estimate... the release date of MK7 in Japan was December 1, 2011.
Ass 1172.5 days (i.e. 1172 or 1173), and you get mid-February 2015.

In otherwords, don't expect anything any earlier than about Spring 2014.

It takes around 3 years for each sequel since MKDD!!, so I wouldn't hope to hear any news about this until 2013 summer, 2014 if we're talking about a release date.

I said major console.

GameBoy color...well that's just the GameBoy with color. The next major handheld console, I am sure many would agree, was the GameBoy Advance.

But I respectfully disagree. Mario Kart for the Wii U will be released in 2013, or in spring 2014 at the latest.

You guys have to remember that Mario Kart Wii sold over 32 million (!!!) copies! It's the second bestselling Wii game, ever, after Wii Sports.

Nintendo is anxious (almost desperate) for the Wii U to be a huge success. So of course they are already working on a Mario Kart title for this new console. It won't be a launch title, but it will be released within the 1 1/2 years following the Wii U launch.

What about the Gameboy?
 
I have to say, I have no idea why Nintendo never released a Game Boy. Probably because it couldn't really pull of mode 7 that well. I mean, none of the Game Boy/Game Boy Color '3D' games worked well at all, so the only options would either be make the game as ugly as sin or make it top down view like Micro Machines or whatever...
