From past experience, hardly any Nintendo consoles have succeeded purely or mostly from third party games ever since there was genuine competition/multiple consoles in the Nintendo 64 era onwards.
The Gamecube was meant to be easy to port third party games to, but often companies didn't do so.
The Wii the same, but lacked in most well known series.
Will the Wii U buck the trend? Or do third parties just hate Nintendo and not want to compete with their first party games?
