Yes, I think there would be more people making a few dollars or more online then offline since there will be a lot of internet connected people in countries with a large amount of poor people like in Mexico, China, Africa, and India which can use the few US dollars they earned online to buy rice and grains to eat. Plus, it is better then working in a factory where they earn the same amount or less, but the working conditions are like being a slave.

There are also young kids who are too young to work in reality because of working laws, and have strict parents which don't buy them toys, video games, or electronics they want, so they can use the internet to earn some money to buy items like toys, video games, electronics, apps, and other small items instead of waiting until they are working age to make money to buy those things.

It is generally easy to make a dollar and small amounts of money online since it can be as simple as writing a few articles on Squidoo, doing short few minute surveys on Swagbooks, making an app, making logos and buttons to sell to website owners, uploading a video to YouTube, posting a link on Twitter, or your blog, and talking about a product like a cell phone, tablet, shampoo, and other things people buy from a store, and the company gives you some money for making the video, or you get paid from YouTube Partner program.

I predict Facebook and other social sites might some day pay members a small amount of money to write good posts, and post interesting photos and videos like YouTube since without good content, people won't visit their site as much as sites with better content like YouTube.
