I know Nintendo have said it'd be difficult to make another game considering how they basically ran out of ideas while making Super Mario Galaxy 2, but do you think they'll ever return to the theme?
I'm not sure. On the one hand, they've generally used a different general gimmick for each new 3D Mario, with direct sequels as rare/non existant, but on the other, Mario Galaxy as a 'series' has sold really well compared to say, Sunshine. And it already got one sequel anyway...
I hope not,I think 2 is more than enough. I don't want Nintendo to start ripping out their hair because they can't think of ideas for another SMG game.
I hope they try something else,because another NEW title would really help.SMG got boring after a while.
Maybe on the Wii U there will be new dimensions they can explore with the Mario Galaxy theme. That being said, it was very apparent they ran out of ideas while making Galaxy 2, so I certainly hope they come up with a great deal of level design and control innovations before working on 3. I love this series and hope to see more of it in the future.
