At the moment, we've got Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft making consoles and before we had the likes Atari and Sega and the like involved in them too. But will there ever be another company in the market offering their own video game system?
Not an Android style one like the Ouya or Gamestick or Shield or whatever, but an actual console with its own dedicated library of games?
Or is the market now too difficult to compete in for anyone who doesn't already have market share?

The market isn't too difficult - the ladder is just VERY long and well greased. lol If it were a new competitor it would have to climb the ladder like Nintendo did and be a 3rd Party developer before making their own system. Something to give them a name and a fan base. For me, it would definitely be Platinum Games, Atlus and Nippon Ichi Software (NIS). POSSIBLY ComCept that would make me run out.
Actually, there's an idea for a decent topic, I think; 'What current 3rd Party developer would make you run out and by there system if they announced their own?"
