I mean, Artoon did make the platform hell esque nightmare that was Yoshi's Island DS after all, and their remnants (in the form of Arzest) are making this game...
So will it as difficult? Or will common sense reign and they'll knock it off with the kaizo style elements in this one? Heck, do the designers of the last game's secret levels even work with Arzest (hopefully not)?
Hm... so far it looks pretty simple in its design. I have a feeling like it's going to be easier than the first Yoshi's Island. I hope that's not the case. Yoshi's Island had the perfect difficulty curve. It started out easy and fun and slowly became harder and harder. It was challenging but fair. (unlike Yoshi's Island DS)
I hope they manage to capture that same balance.
...it's just kinda hard to tell since we still haven't seen much interesting stuff yet.
God I hope not. It should be on par with the original, not with the often hellish levels of the DS game. I loved the original diffculty curve of the first game.
Hopefully this time they throw in the original Yoshi's Island on Virtual Console beforehand so we don't have another missed opportunity, though this game looks interesting since it's using the 2.5D perspective of things; and it looks really interesting. I never actually played through all of Yoshi's Island since the game didn't interest me that much, but if they put it on Virtual Console I'd be willing to playthrough all of it to get the jist of this "difficulty spike" everyone' talking about. It intrigues me.
