Yes, I think future consoles will make it easy for you to plug them into your PC via USB to game on your PC monitor while your PC is ON, and to record gameplay video and downloadable content and games to your PC hard drive to save space on your console's hard drive which is usually much smaller unless your PC is very old.

Plus, in the near future, more people will own or have easier access to PCs, laptops, and Tablets with USB ports then TVs with HDMI ports since a college dorm room or apartments can be kind of small if you are sharing a room, and TV, but almost every young person in college has a laptop, desktop, or tablet computer with USB ports.

Many older and cheaper TVs also don't have HDMI ports.

The PC's unused CPU, RAM and video card resources can also be used to make the games on your game console look more realistic, and run faster by copying the disc to your PC hard drive, and RAM when connected to a console.
