It goes without saying that Sony will at some point come out with a more advance/slimier version of the PlayStation 5 system, most likely a PS5 Pro, will you wait for that or buy the PS5 at launch?

I am greedy so buying PS5 without waiting for PS5 pro since I can't wait for the new games. If the PRO launches within next 15 days I would wait, else ill go with PS5 only.

Hmm wonder on the Ps5 Pro's price tag. Read this from BGR and Game Informer. I am tempted to wait and get the pro version of the ps5 instead of the normal ps5:

Sony’s Executive Vice President of Hardware Engineering and Operation Masayasu Ito addressed the PS5 Pro in an interview with Game Informer. He suggested that a PlayStation Pro is inevitable. That’s because Sony is looking to keep up with hardware developments between major PlayStation releases, and the only way to do so is to launch a Pro model mid-cycle:

Indeed, in the past, the cycle for a new platform was 7 to 10 years, but in view of the very rapid development and evolution of technology, it’s really a six to seven-year platform cycle. Then we cannot fully catch up with the rapid development of the technology, therefore our thinking is that as far as a platform is concerned for the PS5, it’s a cycle of maybe six to seven years. But doing that, a platform lifecycle, we should be able to change the hardware itself and try to incorporate advancements in technology. That was the thinking behind it, and the test case of that thinking was the PS4 Pro that launched in the midway of the PS4 launch cycle.

Thanks for posting this, whatever the pro costs, I will wait and buy it day one!

I'm not buying the PS5 at launch, will wait for the second model or may just go for the PS5 Pro if I can get myself a good deal.

I would love to buy it outright whatever the price. But unfortunately, they won't do that. I may consider exchanging the PS5 and paying a bit more for the Pro when it comes out. But I'm not waiting without the PS5.

I’d wait, and by that time more games would be out. I basically refuse to buy consoles at launch, as there launch lineup is hardly worth the money, and most of the titles will be multiplat with the previous consoles with barely any upgrades, making it even more pointless to drop 100’s on a new console.

I still haven’t forgotten that early PS4 bundles and ads were “buy a PS4 and play The Last Of Us and GTA5”.

same, it be nice to own something new and shiny, but it comes with all the bugs, glitches and low amount and high costing games to play.

PS5 Pro won't come out that soon after release of PS5 so waiting for it would just mean I miss out on some great games.
I just don't possess that much willpower and avoiding spoilers for games would be a nightmare.
Buying PS5 on release.

I normally do buy a console at launch anyway. I usually wait to get it for my birthday or for Christmas or some kind of special occasion.

I'm more about the games that come out for that system than I am about the system itself. If there isn't really a whole lot of games coming out with it at launch that I'm interested in, then I can wait.
