Microsoft’s first big update for its operating-system-as-a-service is deleting some user-installed apps without asking Windows owners for permission, according to dozens of complaints on message boards and forums. The affected programs include hardware monitoring tools CPU-Z and Speccy as well as the AMD Catalyst Control Center for tweaking your Radeon graphics cards.

It is concerning that Microsoft can automatically disable software with an update in Windows 10.

It would really stink if you need to use a big program like Libreoffice to finish homework which is due soon for school, but Microsoft disabled it after a Windows update. Because Windows Update wrecked Libreoffice, you can't finish your homework before the due date causing your teacher to give you a lower grade.
