$200 for a Pro upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, the standard edition of Windows 8 will cost $120 on Febuary 1st. For now, you can still buy the $39.99 upgrade of Windows 8 Pro at Microsoft's website for Windows 8 until the end of January 31st.

I bet there would be a large amount of last minute Windows 8 Pro upgrade sales at the 39.99 dollar price before the price hike at $120-200 which is very high.

I'm pretty happy with Windows 8 after using it for a few months now. It seems faster and crash less then Windows 7 on my slower computer.

I upgraded mainly because I read online that it uses less RAM and CPU power then Windows 7, and my PC only has 1GB of RAM and a dual core CPU.

Now, my computer feels a little faster, and rarely uses 95% of my memory when watching HD 720-1080P YouTube videos. Now it only uses 84% memory when I watch HD YouTube videos with Firefox. Plus, 8 does not make Windows Force close when shutting down like Windows 7.

I like the faster start up, shutdown, and program start times.

So they jacked up the price, nice move. But it won't make me upgrade. I'll only upgrade upon getting a new PC.
