I recently read that Microsoft is planning a low cost or possibly free operating system with yearly updates similar to Apple OS X/iOS, Google Android, or Linux based operating system like Ubuntu. THe OS would be called Blue, and would run on Phones, Desktops, and other devices.

The approach is simple, Microsoft will price its next Windows release at a low cost or even free to ensure users upgrade. Once Windows Blue is released, the Windows SDK will be updated to support the support the new release and Microsoft will stop accepting apps that are built specifically for Windows 8, pushing developers to create apps for Blue. Windows 8 apps will continue to run on Blue despite the planned SDK changes.

Hopefully, this is the beginning of Microsoft selling their operating system at reasonable prices like between a penny - $9.99 which is a low price, or just giving away Windows Blue for free like Google Chrome OS, Google Android, FreeBSD, Linux distrubutions OS like Ubuntu, Mint, and Fedora which are all free, so all the user needs to do is buy or build a PC, but not pay for the operating system which runs on the device, and all future versions of the OS are free to download online to burn to a CD to install.

If they are doing this, they need to go back to XP and do this with that. People would bow down to MS once again.

If Windows Blue is free, or cost 99 cents like most paid apps for Smartphones, Tablets, and other devices, and can run all current Windows games, programs, and most files like MP3, Jpeg, Doc, etc, I see a lot of people downloading Windows Blue since people like cheap and free stuff this is one of the reasons Linux is so popular with a lot of people because Linux cost nothing to download, and use on any PC.
