As rumored and confirmed, Microsoft revealed their new Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Microsoft is touting WP7 as the first OS to bring together a mobile phone, Zune music and video, and Xbox LIVE all on one device. New features include a physical Bing button on the handset, dynamic icons called "live tiles" that can be customized to show application information or friends' latest facebook updates, and a new organization system called Hubs.
A hub draws together all the updates, and tools, and information relevant to a topic. WP7 will come with a People hub (focused on social networking), Pictures, Music + Video, Marketplace, Office, and coolest of all, Games. Xbox LIVE integration means you can download games onto your phone, follow Spotlight feeds, and check out people's avatars, achievements, and gamer profiles.
