Less than a month after anonymous employees of Team Bondi spoke out about the environment and working conditions at the Australian studio, a former developer for mobile gaming company Gameloft is describing what he calls "dangerous working conditions."
In an interview with Games On Net, Glenn Watson, former head studio programmer at Gameloft's New Zealand location, says he was sometimes working 100 - 120 hours a week, and that a 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. schedule was not an unusual occurence.
"There were other times when I would be called back into the office at 11:30 p.m. by the studio producer, only to head home again at 2:30 a.m.,” Watson says. “It was after I worked four consecutive weeks of fourteen-hour days - including weekends - that I realised I needed to resign."
Watson goes on to describe an alleged practice at the company called "golding," where employees would work hundreds of hours of overtime to go gold on a game, only to find out that the deadline was several weeks later than they'd been told.
Games On Net claims that other Gameloft employees who wish to remain anonymous have independently confirmed many of Watson's allegations.
So far, Gameloft has not made a public statement.

there was also a recent report of the same working conditions at SE. I don't think working at some game companies is a good idea.
