I really don't like to work on Holidays and Weekends.

Ugh....how I wish we have a strict rule that no one is supposed to work during those days .... ;_;

I'm also stuck working most Saturdays and Sundays. Luckily since my second job is starting off I'll get Sundays off, but I have work my second job on Friday's 6:15 until 10pm or later depending on business, drive an hour home, meaning 11pm or later, then shower and eat since I'll be covered in paint and dirt, plus I'll haven't eaten in hours, and finally get to bed around midnight or later just to wake up at 5am to be at work at 7am the next morning, then do my zombie job again from 5:15 until 10pm or later. So that won't be fun.

Wow.
This is my third Saturday that I have to work this year. I can't imagine how it will be if I have to work most of the saturdays.....
I am so sorry Dark Young Link

My job is only from Monday to Friday, I am always free on all Saturday, all Sunday, all public holiday (coming Monday is public holiday too), golden week, and new year week.

Dark Link...I'm sorry you have to work those hours. That really sucks.

At my job, I normally have to work on the weekends. My 2 days off are normally during the week sometime. It really sucks because my hubby works one of those jobs that's strictly Monday through Friday. If, in the rare occasion, he has to work a Saturday then he'll at least get paid overtime for it which will make his paycheck a whole lot bigger and that kind of makes up for it. My hubby will also get off on holidays and get paid for it. I, on the other hand, will not get overtime for working the weekend and I normally end up working on the holiday. The only good side about the holidays is that I get an extra 8 hours of pay for free because it's a holiday. Normally, I don't get a holiday off or a weekend off unless I'm taking my vacation time.

I work 2 jobs and between them I end up working almost every weekend. It's extremely rare that I get a whole weekend off. I might get one day off but usually end up working the other.

For the entire summer it's been pretty common that I might only get 1 day off each month.

There have also been days where I'd be working for 13+ hours (sometimes between the two jobs, othertimes just one). In one particularly exhausting case I worked for one job from 8am to 3pm then went to the other job at 5pm and worked until 7am the next morning.

damn, harsh times VZ?

Anyways, I often had to work weekends, but these days I'm starting to get Saturdays off.

Guess it's not just me who is having it hard . Well I should probably look for ways which are good for me and doesn't put too much strain on me...
Thank you guys and hopefully you will get better stuff in the near future.

DS,
yeah it has been an extremely hectic and busy summer. I woke up one morning just recently and went "Where did August and September go?" and then I remembered I worked all through them. My pay check was pretty good though.

Claraviolet,
I don't exactly call 3 saturdays a year as a hard time. I mean it maybe kinda sucks to have to once in a while, but you still have the rest off. Unlike some of us where we don't get much time off. I personally look forward to November when things slow down and I might get a whole two days off in a row.

Ugh...I stayed late at my office again. I really hate working late but it can't be avoided I suppose. How I wish I could maintain standard timings for once..I never thought I would miss my college life but here I am... :sigh:

I'm okay with working on weekends since I usually don't do many fun hobbies on the weekend, and I can always do my hobbies, and spend time with my friends and family on the weekday, or after work.

I don't want to work on weekends at all.
They are for me to relax and prepare for the next week and spend some quality time with my family ;_;

I would much prefer working a set schedule like my hubby does. I've been trying to switch jobs so that I can get that kind of schedule like his but it hasn't worked out yet.
