This Turing Phone isn't exactly affordable or doesn't even come from a popular phone brand but the fact that it is the first liquid metal-frame smartphone in the world is enough to make us put in on the spotlight.

Turing Robotic Industries (TRI) is releasing only ten thousand units of the Turing Phone. Pre-order will open starting the 31st of July on the Turning Phone website. It's one unique smartphone that promises secure and trustworthy communication all the time because of the end-to-end authentication system it uses. This means no privacy issues or even those annoying cyber threats.

Three variants of the phone will be available: 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB. These models are priced at $610, $740, and $870, respectively. Expensive for an Android phone and from a company we're not really familiar with but it's made from Liquidmorphium. Don't be intimated by the term. It's just a new material that is super durable, promising shock absorption, IPx8 waterproof rating, and being "tougher than steel or titanium". Simply put, this is one tough phone from inside and out--able to withstand security threats and possible breakage. Specs of the phone include a 5.5-inch FHD screen, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 13MP main camera with HDR Dual Flash, 8MP front-facing camera, fingerprint sensor, 3GB RAM, and non-removable 3000 mAh battery. It will run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

Turing Robotic Industries is still a relatively young company but it's determined to enter the mobile market. Why, it's even planning to open a retail store in the United States first quarter of 2016 and a special SDK, the Turing Library software development kit, will be released next month in time for delivery of the Turing Phones.

Those who will pre-order for the Turing Phone will get a bonus accessories package. Except a mobile gaming controller, gaming Bluetooth headset, a Bluetooth speaker, and a mobile Bluetooth keyboard to arrive with the smartphone. You can choose from any of the four color schemes that TRI has yet to announce this coming July 22.

Anyone heard about this phone? What do you think?

Well, the only problem is liquid metal is known cause create and cause unheard of diseases. I used to play with a bottle of liquid metal when I was a kid and I'm sure it really messed me up. Another couple of friends of mine found 2litre bottles of it, threw it on the ground, and played with it too and they all got weird things happening with their body that the hospital couldn't solve for years.

I wouldn't put that thing near my head.

first off, why were you playing with liquid metal and how did you even get your hands on the stuff?

Second, what is liquid metal and why does it make a difference to use it on phones?

I don't know. Cause it's fun to throw it on the table and make it form together like in the Terminator. I was 11yrs old. My dad broke a few 1950s thermometers and saved the stuff. It was always in the junk drawer. My friends got the litres of it from an abandoned hospital that they broke into. they were not kids. They were 22yrs old.

Liquid medal is Mercury in a liquid form.

Putting mercury by your ear may give you the wacky side effects of being poisoned by mercury....possibly. If you just play with it like this clown in the youtube video, your body starts doing weird things.

All over canada & the US, the govt are upgrading water meters in every house to smart meters. The cities are swapping them in all houses. Smart meters have been proven to throw a massive amount of radiation in the air and they are installed in your basement.
The smart meters are viciously dangerous. They are suppose to cause fires and do a bunch of other weird things.

They released them. They are actually forcing everyone to get them.

huh, will have to look into this.

So what makes liquid metal usable as a good frame?

I'm not sure it is a good decision to buy a secure smartphone like the Turing phone which promises Security because of End to End Encryption. Sometimes smaller companies like Turing close down suddenly because of not having enough buyers, so they can no longer afford to pay staff to run the company which could make the phone unsecure because it is no longer supported by the original company.

Personally, if I was looking for a more secure smartphone, I buy a Blackberry Smartphone because Blackberry has been making secre phones for many years.

I read blog posts that Blackberry will release their Android Venice Blackberry phone soon, so I think the Blackberry Venice is a better choice. Current, Blackberry phones already can run Android apps, and it is possible to install the Google Play store on some Blackberry phones.

After reading all the above replies, there is no way I am gonna get this phone, in this lifetime.
Still, it was fun to look at that kid play with the liquid metal. It's really shiny *-*
