Possibly, for some information like word definitions, school help, paid content, and encyclopedia articles.

Many people who use NetFlix tend to use the NetFlix App to watch shows and movies on their video players, smart phones, tablets, and devices.

I think when more information sites/companies like Encyclopedias, dictionaries, How To, Tutorials, etc create Apps for smartphones, Tablets, Mac and PCs then more people will just use Apps then going to Search Engines to search for websites on how to do stuff since an App loads faster then a website for basic information like word definitions, and historical articles, and the user save time since he does not have to open a browser, and use the address bar, search for links or bookmarks to access their favorite content.

Plus, many Apps also has offline content, so you don't have to be online to use it, and the App user does not have to worry about Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, and other web browser not displaying content correctly since an App will look the same on every phone, device, PC, etc which supports it.

Apps also load faster since it is installed on the device, and doesn't require a fast internet connection and web server to load fast like a website.

I do feel apps will make people more lazy.

Yes, espiecally voice apps where you just ask questions or give voice commands like "what is 1+1?" to your computer, Microsoft Kinect, phone, etc instead of just using a real calculator, or the calculator app on the phone where you have to type in "1+1="
