Yes, I think most Tablets in the future or even now at least for Windows and Android Tablets would let people easily plug in Keyboards and Mice when Microsoft surface Tablet comes out since the Microsoft Surface Tablet has a keyboard and touchpad, and also USB ports for plugging in USB accessories like Mice, Flash drive, and other accessories.

But, USB ports might be replaced by wireless technology like Bluetooth, Infrared, Wi-Fi, etc for controlling Keyboard, mice, and other accessories instead of wires.

A netbook, laptop, and desktop would be more expensive, and less convenient since you can't remove the screen to use like a ordinary tablet when you don't need the keyboard and mouse for doing more typing intensive tasks like e-mail, and Instant Messagin vs. getting a cheap Android 7" Tablet, and USB keyboard case off of eBay, Amazon, etc for 100-150 dollars or more. The Keyboard case also acts as a case/bag, so you can use it to protect your screen from damage.

Plus, I think a lot of people would most likely want USB ports on their tablets for attaching USB flash drives, and hard drives since 2GB-4GB of storage on cheaper Tablets run out of space very fast when you use it to store video, music, and files.

Most of the high end ones like the Asus Transformer/Prime, and some mid-end tablets like the Asus Google Nexus 7 tablet come with USB ports, but you may need to buy a USB micro to full size USB cable plug to use Full size USB found on Printers, Flash drives, and Webcams, etc.

There are also some very cheap generic tablets with low resolution screens and poor performance which aren't really worth getting, but they bundle so many features like USB, Bluetooth, Cameras, Wi-Fi, Microphone, and MicroSD card slot which make the $99 price tag more worth it because of included USB and other features which make it like a low-end PC.
