Possibly, I think more companies like Nvidia and start-up companies like Ouya and Gamestick will come out with their own consoles in the future as long as they convince game makers or hire game makers to make games for their new consoles.

The price of console parts like RAM, CPU, Video card, memory cards, and other things are not as expensive, and the labor cost of hiring factory workers where people are willing to work for dollars a day are easy to find in China, Mexico, and India to build your consoles, and parts. They can also use existing parts and designs from smartphones, tablets, and computers to make a console without spending as much on design.

Plus, the price to advertise a new consoles and its games is not as expensive these days since advertising on the internet cost a lot less then magazines, TV, and Radio, or it is free via Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook posts.

There are also a lot of popular websites and YouTubers with thousands or millions of subscribers which will do a free review about a console after they receive a free review console like how a lot of cell phone review websites get free phones to review, and send back, or keep after the review.

All three of those you have listed just came out with systems, but I can't support this. I don't need more platforms to choose from.

I think the success (or failure) of the Ouya will be a good indication of this. I would really like to see it take off because the entry-level for a console game is pretty high for new developers. If consoles become more open then we'll see a lot more fresh ideas that publishers may not have put their money on (eg: LIMBO).

However, I hope that we don't end up with a saturated market of Android-based consoles like we do smartphones and tablets, especially if they just end up being smaller PCs.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think more choices is good for the gamers who is not really into current generation console games like Halo 4, Call of Duty, etc.

There are a lot of people who don't really need the power of a PC or Mainstream console to play classic games like Tetris, pong, pinball, etc, but most older consoles are not being made anymore.

A $99 or cheaper console would be good enough for them to play classic games while saving hundreds of dollars, and people who play less graphical entensive games like Minecraft, World of Goo, Asphalt 7, Shadow Gun, and a lot of indie games don't need a more expensive console because they can be run on cheaper consoles, so they can afford more games with the money they saved by buying a cheaper console.

This is off on a tangent but what a lot of don't realise about Minecraft is that despite the graphics not being amazing, it actually takes an immense amount of power to run because the randomly-generated maps take up a lot of resources. I can't see it running smoothly on these consoles at all, especially considering the port on the current-gen Xbox 360 is limited to 1024x1024 blocks. These smaller consoles are going to have even smaller worlds because they will be so strapped for power.

Unless they port the exceedingly limited mobile version to the consoles, we won't be seeing Minecraft on them.

The mobile version of Minecraft is more limited, but cost 6 dollars which is about 20 dollars cheaper then the desktop versions. I bet a lot of people liked the $6 version of Minecraft on mobile, and bought the PC or console version.

Possibly, the Nvidia Shield Handheld Console with its Tegra 4 video card might be able to play the console or desktop version of Minecraft because its video chip has 72 processing cores and other newer features to improve video quality. When the Tegra 4 by Nvidia is on more cheap consoles, it can handle the PC or console version of Minecraft.
