Yes, I think Apple iOS and Google Android will have more games in the future then current gaming handhelds like the 3DS and Vita because you do not have to ask for Apple or Google permission to make games for their devices, and making games for smartphone uses more open programming languages like Java, HTML5, and other open programming languages which are easy to find books and videos on to learn how to make game apps.
But, most of the games for iOS and Android will be casual games and touch based games until Apple and Google Android hardware makers make a joystick and real buttons for their phones and tablets, so people can play them like a Gameboy, and PSP rather then taping and sliding on a touch screen.
Slower paced games like RPGs, Real Time Strategy, Tower defense, and non-fast paced games will probably play well on Smartphones and Tablets for now.
