Would there ever be a free Wireless of high speed internet for users to use for free like FM radio,

Possibly, some day there would be free high speed wireless Wi-Fi internet like FM Radio, Antannae TV, and Free webhosting for people to use for free, but it would probably be Ad-suported like Free Website hosting which let users freely make a website on a free host if the users agree to let the owner of the host post ads on their website, donation supported like Wikipedia which gets over 20+ million dollars in donations, or paid subscription supported like the internet provider gets money when you purchase stuff from their online app, media, and game store, but the internet service is free.

The government can also step in, and provide a free high speed wireless internet to all citizens, and tourists in the town. It might boost tourism, and people going out more to shop because they would have internet throughout the city.

If enough voters "demand" free wireless wi-fi internet for everyone who lives in the city, and tourists, the government will make a free version of the internet which is supported by advertising, donations, and possibly taxes. I bet the mayor will also get more votes from young people, geeks, and nerds as well.

Free wireless internet might benefit more people then having libraries since many people use the internet to go online to search for info.

I remember back in the 1990s there weere free dial-up internet for people who install an App/program on their computer, but a small rectangle on their desktop display advertising and offers inexchange for free internet to users.

as far as public places are concerned, there is free wireless wi-fi. But as for homes I doubt it, even if they do label it as free they will charge you an arm and leg for the equipment needed to get the internet.

You just need a Wi-Fi adapter which is now built-into most laptops, Tablets, and newer desktop computer to go online wirelessly, so extra equiptment is not needed. Although, the government, non-profit organization, or company will need to make a strong enough wireless signal like FM radio, HD Antannae TV, or Satalites to provide the signal.

Google is currently providing free Wireless internet to the City of Mountain View which is also the city which is their main office is located in, all you need is a Google Account and a Wi-fi adapter.

I predict if the Free service is Ad or donation supported then it be possible to have free wireless internet, but with ads or a donation link on your browser toolbars, or within the web browser window since it would be the best way for local buisnesses to advertise to locals who use the free wireless internet signal in their city.
