Nope since my current computer only has 1GB of RAM. When I buy something new, I want something better. If I was buying a Netbook or Net top. I might buy it if it only have 1 GB of RAM since Netbooks usually have Windows XP which runs great on 1GB of RAM.
I know what you mean. I just can run a web browser, Microsoft Word, Media Player, and a virus+virus scan before my PC lag. Plus, it takes forever to launch Gimp on a PC running 7 or vista with 1GB of RAM.
3GB or more of RAM is a good amount of RAM for newer computers.
It is kind of sad how MS makes their OS use more RAM with most new versions. 1GB is only good for Windows XP and below + playing older games on XP.
Nope.. I came off of having only 384mb of RAM and I still have it.. it is currently my living room computer.
But the one I am using has 2gb of ram and I will be upgrading it to 4. It was a Christmas gift from my fiancé and although I insisted that I was fine with the 384mb.. I am happy that I have this new computer.
It took me a while to get used to not having to wait for a program to run. And because I am so used to the speed now, I find it kind of hard to use the one in my living room, although that one is just for light use anyway..
Really, it all depends on your needs, if you are going to have it as just a secondary computer, then sure, why the heck not, but if you are to use it for something that is more resource-intensive, then absolutely not. However, if the computer is for light use, then, if I can, I would rather build it myself, and spare myself the expense altogether.
