The Xbox live rewards scheme that Microsoft trialled last year obviously made a big impression as it has been officially rolled out today. The new scheme gives Xbox owners the opportunity to claim free Microsoft Points (MS points) when they renew memberships, activating services such as Netflix and take official surveys.
The rewards can be as little as 10 MS points for renewing a single month of the Xbox live service rising to a whopping 400 MS points for buying or renewing a family gold membership. Users also get a nice welcome bonus of 100 Microsoft Points when they use the service for the first time to buy something.
Microsoft is also offering 20 points for a participating in monthly surveys and 100 points when they activate and use Netflix through their Xbox 360 console. Microsoft is also tantalising early adopters with ‘cool’ prizes when they agree to take part in new promotions or activities.
