Microsoft has announced that it is to be freeing up Xbox LIVE's multiplayer service, with players of the forthcoming GTA IV expansion The Lost & Damned allowed exclusive free access online from February 17 to February 22.
Normally only available to Xbox LIVE gold subscribers, all and sundry will be able to enjoy The Lost & Damned's new multiplayer components for the five days following its release. It's the first time Microsoft has made such a move, and is indicative of the aggressive stance it is taking as it ensures it sees a return for the $50 million the company laid out for exclusivity on the GTA IV DLC.
