Xbox one Digital TV Tuner

European Xbox One owners will soon be able to turn their console into a TV set-top box with a digital tuner adaptor, Microsoft announced today.

The €29.99 ($40 USD) adaptor will plug into a USB port to pick up free-to-air channels, and also allow for use of premium features such as being able to pause live TV when you need to get off the couch, or accessing shows and channels with voice commands.

The adapter maybe useful in places with better free shows, but not very useful for places with boring free shows on free channels which may not be able to afford to pay the licensing fees to broadcast a show like Family Guy or movies like Transformers.

I think a lot of TVs made in the last few years these days already has a digital tuner in it. You can buy a cheap Digital TV tuner for $10-20. But, you may need to buy an Antenna if you don't have one already.

Free Antenna TV is boring where I live. All I get on free tv are channels with shows I'm not interested in like old shows, english soap operas, and political channels, so I only watch paid TV or watch shows on the internet.

All the good shows like anime, sports, newer shows, and better shows like American Dad, Family Guy, Game of thrones, etc require a paid cable subscription, or subscription to Netflix.
