Xbox Xbox One S Release Date

Microsoft announced the $399 2TB version of the Xbox One S will be hitting shelves on August 2nd 2016.

The company also confirmed if you've pre-ordered one, you'll be getting it on release day. If you want one of the new slim consoles, you can still pre-order from Microsoft's store.

I'm going to take a random guess of yes.

A slim version isn't enough for me to jump ship. I will likely buy a normal Xbox One eventually when the price of that comes down so that I can play the exclusives I am missing out on.

Isn't the Xbox Scorpio (or Xbox S) supposed to also support VR and 4k? Not just a slim model of the Xbox One. I could be wrong though. I know Sony and Microsoft were working on 'updated' models of the current gen consoles to support VR and either 4k or 6k HD. Regardless though, I'm actually happy about this because people will swarm to get the 'latest model' and I'll finally be able to snag a Xbox One for dirt cheap to play the like 5 games on Xbox One that I want to play.
