The Japanese launch of the Xbox One has been met with uncertainty ever since it was announced, but in a recent interview with Japanese site 4gamer, Yasuyuki Higuchi, President of Microsoft Japan, confirmed that the new console will be available in the country next year.

In a translation provided by DualShockers (via GamesIndustry International), Higuchi stated that "For the launch of Xbox One Japan is a Tier 2 country and not a Tier 1 country, so it'll come with the second wave, that will be delayed a little bit [compared to North America]."

When asked to confirm that the console will not be sold in Japan this year, he responded by saying, "That's right. It'll launch after the Tier 1 markets," but that "It won't be delayed too much from the North American release."

Microsoft plans to initially launch the Xbox One in November 2013

Now, will it be worth it?

I am surprised as new games or consoles generally come out first in Japan this news has shocked me.So the UK and USA and other countries are getting the Xbox one first i feel Japan maybe behind in the sales when it gets released over there

you do know that the Xbox is a USA product right? Meaning it would come out first here before Japan. Japan gets things first because that's where Nintendo and Sony are located.

Meh te country is pretty far away so that could explain it but I can't see why its that long...

Next year is not too long from the regular release date of November 2013 depending on how many months it takes to release the Xbox One in Japan.

I think MS is making sure to have enough Xbox Ones to sell in retail stores and onine in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and other countries where the Xbox is popular to avoid a Xbox shortage, and not have as many un-bought Xbox One in Japan which would of been sold to people who wanted to buy them in other countries, but can't because there is a shortage of consoles.

The Xbox One's Prorders are already sold out at Gamestop, Bestbuy, and other stores, so I think MS is working hard to make more Xbox One consoles for people who plan on buying it after launch in retail, and online stores to not disappoint people who want to buy the Xbox One, but can't because there is a shortage.
