The latest Xbox Update Preview coming to the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead rings is Build 2109.210813-2200, which launched on August 16. This update will allow Insiders with an Xbox Series X console connected to a 4K TV or monitor to begin testing a new UI with an increased resolution. The update will display the Home screen, Guide, and other areas of the UI at a higher native resolution, thereby increasing sharpness and readability.

  • Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.
    • Note: Users participating in Preview may see “odd” text across the console, for more information go here.

Known Issues

We understand some issues have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.

Good to hear although I was secretly hoping that it was going to be an actual brand new UI. The xbox UI just isn't great compared to the PS5 one.

Yeah, they have ads as well which is a bit weird. The UI just doesn't feel like the UI of a gaming console really.

Its absolutely wonderful for Microsoft to consider Xbox Series X UI upgrade, to improve readability, appearance, resolution and fix bugs and glitches, that's tremendous.
