Nintendo has announced that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will be launching on the Nintendo Switch on 20th March 2025.

Boasting updated visuals and additional content, the release will mark the final port or re-release for the Xenoblade franchise on Switch, meaning that the entire series is now playable on one console. The original launched on the Wii U in 2015 and is well regarded amongst fans as a strong spin-off to the mainline series.

Here's a look at the official breakdown from Nintendo...

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition features your character at the center of the action in a standalone sci-fi story. Customize your avatar’s looks and class to your liking and choose from a wide variety of options in a comprehensive battle system that’s as deep as you want it to be. Once you have proven yourself to the BLADE organization, you can also unlock a powerful Skell: Your giant, customizable mech that’s proficient in exploration and combat to assist you in your adventures across Mira.

While you go about the reconstruction effort, you’ll get to know the people of NLA, help them with their problems, and build affinity with your party members to unlock quests that contain rare gear and other rewards to earn. Plus, join an online squad* and take on multiplayer-specific missions, including extra-challenging Global Nemesis Battles! You can even recruit the avatars of other players to your team in the main story.

Game does not have PLOT size Slider because it's not based on the Japanese Version dang it.

Well it's good too imo. In this one you create your own player MC avatar character instead of playing as a predefined MC like in other Xenoblade games.

new trailer:

Didn't but i watched my brother played it on the wiiu pretty much from start to finish when i visited him often backthen.

How it compares to the mainline games?
Well you create your own avatar instead of a predefined mc.
  • Class system like 3, except only really available for your main character (the other characters are fixed to their own class like in 1).
  • You can play as any of the party members, but your main character has to be in the party at all times.
  • The Gear and Augment system is most similar to 1's equipment and gems.
  • Party synergy is done through Soul Voices rather than Chain Attacks.
  • Mechs are a big thing in the game. After a certain point you'll be able to own a mech of your own and can customize it to your liking. Mechs have their own level but it's determined by the body of the mech rather than a traditional level-up system. The parts customization also is what determines what Arts you'll have in the mech.

Sounds like it might be more fun?

Well the mecha stuff is definitely more fun than 3.
