CHINESE PHONE MAKER Xiaomi has vowed to topple Amazon and Samsung to become the world's largest smartphone maker within "five to 10 years".
A little known manufacturer when it was founded in 2010, Xiaomi has certainly made its mark on the smartphone market.
Xiaomi was named as the world's third largest smartphone maker in Q3 2014 by IDC, having bagged 5.3 percent of the global smartphone market, up 211 percent year on year, before promptly being toppled by Lenovo thanks to its recent Motorola takeover.

I think Xiaomi can beat Apple, and Samsung in less than 5 years if they try very hard to sell their phones to the billions of Chinese, and Asians in Asian countries like China, Taiwan, Singapore, Mongolia, and Thailand where there are still many people without smartphones.
I think both Apple, and Samsung smartphone, and tablets are getting kind of boring compared to other devices made by Motorola, Xiaomi, and LG, and the quality is not really good with the iPhone 6 Plus bending when people put it in their pant's pocket, and Samsung's phone battery sometimes catch on fire in blog posts I read like this one : Samsung Galaxy S4 mobile phone catches fire after owner charges it whilst sleeping | Daily Mail Online . I think there are also reports on tech blogs of the battery in some iPhones catching fire, and the charger electricuting people.
