Simply post the games you beat for the first time this year (they don't have to be games that came out in 2010) and then post your top 5 out of the ones you listed. I'll get us started.

This year I beat:

Alpha Protocol
Altered Beast
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Bioshock
Bioshock 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition
Dead Space
Gears of War
Kirby's Adventure
Mass Effect
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Pokemon Platinum
Pokemon Snap
Prince of Persia
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Mario Sunshine
Wario Land: Shake It!
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

Top 5:

#5

I beat this game a couple weeks ago. Rough around the edges, but the game is still fun to play and has a great story with likable characters. Very underrated.

Just beat this game last night. Couldn't decide whether I wanted to put Super Mario Sunshine here or this game. In the end, I looked at replay value and I'm willing to wager that I will be coming back to this game a whole lot sooner than Sunshine. Really well polished by Nintendo with a lot of great levels.

Got this game on sale, wasn't sure what to expect. Extremely fun game with a great settings. Lots of work was put into this game and it shows. The Mass Effect universe is one I look forward to exploring more in the newer games.

This game is great, combat is fluid and simple, yet complex at the same time. I loved solving all the riddles and unlocking tidbits of information about the Batman universe. This game cemented Batman as my favorite hero. Top notch game.

I know what you're thinking, "Benoit that game came out in 2007, what took you so long?" To be honest, I started this game about 2 years ago and couldn't get into. I let the game sit on the shelf, unattended for about a year and a half until I tried it out again earlier this year. Boy am I glad I gave this game a second chance; it is quite possibly my favorite game now. The atmosphere is absolutely chilling in the beginning, but the further along you get the more capable you feel of doing the tasks you are required to do. The story is probably my favorite from any video game; great execution with an awesome plot twist. The ending was beautifully done. Truly one of the best games I have ever played.

Kirby's Adventure
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1
Super Mario Galaxy 2

there will probably be more if i can remember...

From what I remember is that I beat these games this year:

Super Mario Galaxy 1&2
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Resident Evil 4
Call of Duty World at War
Pokemon Emerald
Super Mario World (GBA)
Mario&Luigi Bowser's Inside Story
Pokemon FireRed
Wario Land: Shake it! (just story mode)

What was your favorite game out of those? Looking at that list, I see a few of my own favorites, but I'm curious to know what yours are.

The game that is my #1 favorite is FireRed, really neat remake of the old first generation. the game is spectacular with all the new features and with a tibit of a new plot added in makes it worthwhile to have.

I found it a really good game, At first I thought it was boring until I got into it for a while. I like how the enemies team up against you, providing a challenging in tough times and I found out soon enough that there are quite a few crazy enemies in there that are not fun to be around if you don't have experience playing RE4. I found that regenerators are the most creepiest thing in the game (reminds me of a humorous video on youtube) and the graphics are fantastic (exect that it's difficult to see at night in the village) for it to, not that bad compared to a few others.

Super Mario Galaxy.
Warioware DIY.
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga.
Super Mario 64 DS.
Pokemon Mystery dungeon Blue Resuce team.
There's others, but I can't think of them.

I was meaning to post here but never did. Whoopsie daisy. I shall make up for that mistake by posting now! YEE HAW. The games I beat were (in no specific order)...

Super Mario Galaxy 2
Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2
Trauma Center: New Blood
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Last Window: The Secret of Cape West
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
Dementium: The Ward
Dementium II
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Jurassic Park (SNES)

And those are the main ones. Now I shall rate them, 5 to 1, 1 being best:

5:
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
This was a rather fun DS game and it's one of the games that I looked forward to playing. Adorable little characters and interesting story too.

4:
Dementium II
This was a freaky game for the DS that I found by accident. I remembered reading about one of the puzzles it had in a magazine so I thought it would be a bit of different fun. Turns out it was somewhat gory and all that jazz, with weird things with jaws in their chests coming at me and some dodgy looking thing without eyes that had hooks for feet. Fun times, fun times. Yet incredibly stupid.

3:
Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2
Another DS game, this one was definitely fun. It basically took the formula of the first game and then made improvements where necessary, while still retaining the quality feel. Very challenging at times, but fun nonetheless!

2:
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Of course this one would get in here. Oh well. I just liked it plain and simple. It made me angry at times, it made me happy at times. But in the end, I was very happy that I purchased it. Yay happy.

1:
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
I don't know where to begin, but I just loved this to bits. Funny plot, funnier characters, AND it had FAWFUL! Couldn't get better than that. Only improvement would be to make it longer than what it already is, but even then, it's still got a decent amount of gameplay in it. Memorable music from this game as well. It's tops.

I see you beat Jurassic Park, I remember loving that game as a kid until someone stole it. But then I got the Rampage Edition so it was all good. You ever play the Rampage Edition?

Here are the games I beat, color coded. =P It's kind of sad that I had to buy all these games for the Wii from Virtual Console, because my Nintendo 64 rolled over and died in the past few years. Otherwise, the year was not bad for gaming.

Wii /
DS / PC / Virual Console / Wii Ware

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
Assassin's Creed
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Dragon Quest IX
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Mass Effect
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (IPhone)
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Pokemon Platinum
Pokemon Rumble
Pokemon Soul Silver
Sins of a Solar Empire
Starcraft II
Starfox 64
Super Mario 64
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Supreme Commander 2
The Legend of Zelda
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Total Annihilation

And Now, for my Top 5 Favorites:

Number 5:
pokemon_heartgold_pokemon_soulsilver.jpg

Pokemon Soul Silver (And Heart Gold) kept me busy for many months this year. From battling to trying to fill out the Pokedex to getting 100 wins in the Battle Tower. God, there are way too many level 100's that were raised just to defeat the Battle Tower. My final Team was Electivire, Salamence, and Starmie. Pokewalker was a little cool, but let's admit it, it got boring after a while. Going through two regions to battle 16 gym leaders was an awesome thing to do in this game, as is rebattling all of them. I bet I put in 400 hours on Soul Silver.

If I was rating Soul Silver, I would give it a 7.5/10

Number 4:
awdor001.jpg

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin has so much replay value, it should be illegal. I played this game non-stop throughout the summer and still fiddle with it here and there maybe a week at a time. The campaign was fun, and could definitely be a challenge at times; the multiplayer was addicting, whether with friends or AI's; Map making never ended, there was always a cool twist you could add. This game is definitely one I would recommend to strategy fans who don't feel like paying $60.00 for a PC game.

I feel like this game deserved a 9.75/10

Number 3:
mass_effect.jpg

Yes, this game was that good. I agree with most of what Spiff said. It is something that you get withdrawals about when you beat it. There are so many things to do in Mass Effect, it makes you feel as if you really are out in space, alone and commanding your own ship. From normal battle to driving vehicles to even diplomacy, this game has a wide spectrum of things to do. Plus, the music is awesome.

I would rate this game 8.5/10

Number 2:
158651-rawr.jpg

Supreme Commander 2 is one of the games in a great series by Chris Taylor. The past games have been more focused on expansive landscapes and long, computer freezing battles. This game, however, is a smaller version that makes battles last inside thirty minutes usually, compared to 2 hours plus. I am currently in the process of getting all of the achievements, with only two left. Even getting the achievements, which sometimes tends to be tedious in other games, is pretty fun in this game. My only little nitpick for the whole game is the change of the economy system, but I'm sure me ranting wouldn't have a point.

I would rate this game 8/10

Number 1:
the-legend-of-zelda-majoras-mask-20090403030231429.jpg

Holy Jesus. So much a trip down memory lane can give. I replayed Ocarina of Time, and it was enjoyable as well, but not to the extent of this. Majora's Mask is such a great game and you really get into it early on. The music always has depth, which was one thing that greatly added to gameplay. The actual game itself was seemingly flawless. Not once did I get bored while playing this game, but I had to pull myself away from it to do things that are supposedly more important, like eating. The storyline was something that you didn't really remember after a long vacancy from playing the game, but once you picked it up again, it began to piece itself back together. I have to say that one of the most memorable moments in gaming history is walking up to the large tree with the kids playing around it before the final boss battle took place. That was really epic.

I would rate this game a 39/40

I never even knew there was a Rampage Edition... what was in it?

You could chose to be either Grant or a Raptor. You got to choose what order you wanted to do the levels in. The Raptor's story line ended with it getting on a boat and escaping the island. Grant just escaped a T-Rex chasing his raft. Lots of weapons, my memory is kinda fuzzy on the original but I think they added quite a few. Infinite tranquilizer darts, but only one kinds, lots of grenades, flamethrowers, machine guns, shotguns, rockets, and other things. The Raptor could go into Rage Mode by eating 4 metal boxes (no idea what they are supposed to be) and it'd be the same thing as having star power.

EDIT: I completely forgot that the SNES and Genesis versions of Jurassic Park were completely different games.

Holy hecks, the Genesis version sounds amazing, heh. Especially the "Play as Raptor" part, which is kind of unexpected.

By the way, good post Magikarp Owns. I didn't think anybody would go to the trouble of providing cute little pictures in their spoiler tags, but you did. Unless if Spaceman Spiff did it too... I can't remember. Still, you did it and I didn't, so good job.

WHOOPS: Spiff did it too. Heh, don't worry, I still love you too. I just forgot, that's all!
