Twitter user Wario64 posted a tweet revealing that some Steam Deck users are already experiencing some stick drift on their devices. He cites two Reddit posts from users hollandje and KimJongThorse both with videos detailing the tests they conducted in their device settings, showing their right stick drifting when they point it downwards. The problem only seems to be happening with the right stick so far.

Was it the Steam Deck or something else where they said they had worked specifically on the thumbstick to stop the drifting issue?

This problem is literally impossible to solve with the current parameters for analog I think. Something has to wear down when you are using this type of direction scheme. It has to do with moving the stick and measuring the resistance and some part directly under the stick when moving is to blame. Adding an external controller to remove when not in use feels like the only use if you are going to want extended play. I bet this alone has decreased sales. Just for future prevention treat sticks with extra care.

The company should take corrections as the info went viral concerning the right joystick controller malfunctioning. They ought to have tested it before releasing.

I wonder how long it would take for the joystick to get worn out. I feel the LCD screen, and other parts may break or get worn out before the joystick get too worn where it becomes unusable.
