Hey everyone! Since press start is a series created for this community, if you want to help me develop it as it goes on then please comment here on any stories you'd like me to include, new in-show segments, graphics or if you want to help me write my script for it. I'm just 1 guy so I'm welcoming to new fresh ideas!

I know the last episode went up on a Thursday but I'm targeting new episodes every Saturday to recap the week.

If you have a good idea that doesn't fit into the series then maybe it can be utilized in something else.

Sooooo I know this is something that @cm2 would mention and might be a cheap shot to get views, but how about a video of discussion on Tifa from FF 7 remake practically being the reason the game sold well?

As CM2 posted here:

Square Enix's games this year failed to live up to the same sales goals that FF 7 remake hit, why is that? Both were wanted by the fans, so did fan service drive game sales? Could be an interesting topic to discuss.

Otherwise, could discuss the hot mess that is the Nintendo online pak, bad lag to how it might get the biggest wanted game of all time on it?

Or talking about how Nintendo has their next console planned: Nintendo - Nintendo Teased Their Next Game Console

More Tifa is always Awesome!

And more JRPG stuff would be nice too.

I think we're going to ruffle some feathers if we go this route. I wouldn't necessarily say Tifa was the sole reason the remake sold well, fans of the series have been looking forward to a remake ever since the possibility was teased back with the PS3 tech demo. I think it sold well because it was highly anticipated for over a decade, and it didn't turn out to be complete ass like Duke Nukem.

Unless you're not being serious, then we can insert it as a joke.

This would be an interesting topic to cover, I think it's best discussed in its own video though. Press Start is meant to be a quick and to the point recap of the week's gaming news with a few segments thrown in. I think my explanation above pretty much settles the discussion, nothing really compared to how anticipated the remake release was, so I think seeing a dip in sales after the fact would probably be expected. I also have nothing to back it up right now without further research.

All good topics. I'll research further. :)

I should do more JRPG coverage. I haven't played too many of them as of late, I was big into the PS1 Era JRPGs though. You're welcome to help me write segments/videos for this, if you'd like.

well, half serious and half joke, can go either way :p
It's worth a mention for sure lol

Here's some critique i received from some youtubing communities that I will look to improve on for the next video:

  • The intro is a bit too long, will narrow it down to about 15 seconds and remove the intro voiceovers
  • The volume of the BGM is still a bit too loud in some areas
  • More visuals for in between segments (i.e. new releases at the start of the video should have transitions for the segment involved)
  • More on screen visuals in general. More text pop-ups about what I'm talking about to really get the point across. Also assists in making the jokes funnier.
It was suggested by a couple of people to also have variations on the episodes, where some cover specific game genres or release them as an editorial format throughout the week and include it as part of the recap video at the end of the week.

Also some quick questions I have for yall: I want to be able to cover the new game releases, however if I release the videos on Saturdays like I had planned then all the games will have already been released and nothing will be anticipated by the time the video comes out since @Demon_Skeith makes a new thread on Mondays/Sunday nights.

So, should I plan on releasing these every Monday instead to quickly cover new releases?

I can try getting the release topic out sooner, sometimes the sources I draw and double check from release about the same time.

Even if it's on Sunday I could maybe target a Monday release schedule instead.
