You WILL Be Able to Sit with Kinect

There has been some confusion about whether or not you can sit while using Kinect, Microsoft's upcoming motion controller. We've seen many, many demos of the device in action here at E3 and used it ourselves, but we've yet to see it used by a sitting person. Early in the week IGN was told by Microsoft that you can play some Kinect games sitting down, but then we've heard the opposite from some developers. We posted an article expressing our concerns about not being able to relax while using Kinect.

In response to that article, Microsoft representatives reached out to IGN to clarify, saying we definitely will be able to sit while using Kinect. Representatives said they want to provide a comfortable, enjoyable experience for users and understand that people don't want to watch a movie standing up.

That's good to hear, but since we've only been able to use Kinect standing up so far it looks like Microsoft is still working on making it usable in the sitting position.

I thought it was kind of obvious that you can sit with Kinect. Why else would there be a hand-wave motion when you want to scroll down your instant queue on Netflix? Other then that I hope Fable 3(which uses Kinect) will allow you to have the option to use or not use Kinect. That way I don't have to move my hands/body like a mad-man.
