From day one to now, how much have you spent on all your different computer rigs?

Just £650 after discounts on my current laptop. This is the first laptop that I have bought myself and it's only for uni/general browsing so doesn't need to be anything fancy.

Our first one was free, then the next one costed about $700 which my dad bought. After that I spent $1,000 on the next and $1,200 on my next two laptops. I did purchase a used desktop for $100 for family use, but was far better than anything I could buy on the market new and then 2k for my custom pc.

I probably spent a few thousand of dollars on computers since 1998 to 2020.

Probably a lot. I have to include the entire family expenses after all
