Your views on police cars which look like regular cars without flashy lights and logos?

I think it can be a good idea since drivers are less likely to drive like carelessly if there is a greater chance of knowing there may be an unmarked police car behind you. It is strange that there are vans, trucks, station wagons which are actually police cars in disguise. Plus, it might be easier to catch criminals since I can imagine if a police car with lights and logos drive by all the criminals will hide.
