It's an invasion of privacy when add-ons like toolbars collect your search history or web browsing statistics.
 
Not all cookies can be trusted. Some will collect data about software you use for future improvements, others for advertising and marketing. I believe McAfee and other antivirus programs block and remove certain cookies that may collect information about you or your computer for wrongful means.

That's why I don't download strange add-ons.

Also, it may help out some webmasters if they downloaded Google toolbars and browse hard to crawl pages of their website(s).

It'll make Google bots crawl the hard-to-reach pages easily, ;)
