Your Zelda timeline?

After all the moans and groans about the official timeline, what would you replace it with?? Seeing as a lot of people complain, what is actually wrong with it? For the sake of argument, I'll provide what I thought it was. (I'll leave less story effecting games such as the NES game out, it's only a rough one)

1. Skyward Sword.
2. Ocarina of Time.
3. Majora's Mask.
Hero of Time comes back, lives on in:
4. Twilight Princess.
Soon after this he dies and the Master Sword is lost.
5. Minish Cap.
6. 4 Swords games.
No Hero when Ganon is revived, leading to:
7. Wind Waker.
8. Phantom Hourglass
9. Spirit Tracks.

And the rest are interspersed throughout, I just chose the ones I believe make the most sense in my timeline. And to avoid confusion, this is NOT the official one!!
 
Mine goes like this:

Majora's Mask>Wind Waker>Skyward Sword>Twilight Princess>Ocarina of Time

All other games aren't canon.
 
Here is mine, and I have been using this argument for the longest time. Im seperating these by stories:

Story 1: Zelda 1 - Zelda 2
Story 2: Zelda SNES
Story 3: Twilight Princess(ugh) - Ocarina of Time - Majora's Mask - Soul Caliber 2 - Wind Waker - Phantom Hourglass - Spirit Tracks
Story 4: Minish Cap - Every other 4swords games
Story 5: Twilight Princess

I believe this to be the most canon ONLY because I go what is given to me by the games themselves. the worst part people get wrong is what happens after OoT. 100 years pass, then its wind waker. For some reason, between this gap of MM and WW people try to stuff in all the other zelda titles, BUT if you know their stories, they do not fit.

I dont remember the 4swords stories 100%, but they never mention ganon or the master sword. Its always Vaati, and he never serves a higher power like Aghanim did in the SNES game. One day I should make a vid, set the story straight, I know Ill get sooo much heat for it lol.

I think the one we have makes sense...how could the link from twilight princess be the ocarina of time link when the person teaching you the moves is the Ocarina of time link? The hero's shade (the stalfos teaching you attacks) is The Hero of time.
 
TP was its own game. Remember in Wind Waker, they were praying for the Hero of Time but he never came thats why they flooded Hyrule.

You need to look at the timeline better....There is a time split in ocarina of time, twilight princess follows majoras mask and the timeline where link returns to his own time and leaves hyrule. He wanders into the forest at the end of majoras mask and i guess he grew up in those forests which are rumored to turn one into a stalfos. Did you notice how the link in TP was trained by a stalfos claiming to be the hero...do your research.

I did, I remember that part. He didnt say it was him. Also, WW takes place 100 years later. Everyone is looking for OoT Link(sages). Nowhere to be found. If we were to put in TP, how would that fit. Adult link came back to Hyrule? How would that fit between the 100 year gap of flooding? It would totally be inconsistent with the INTRO OF WIND WAKER.

WINWAKER IS IN A DIFFERENT TIMELINE than Twilight princess! -___- that's the timeline that link left to return to his own, that's the continuing future he saved. In his leave....gannon was sealed away (the ending to oot). Link going back made the courage triforce shatter in that timeline. When he returned to his own time he disappeared at the end of majoras mask (in the young link timeline) because he went back into the lost woods....where humans cannot stay in too long. In Windwaker Toon link had to become the new hero because nobody in that time was a direct descendent of the true hero. Windwaker link and skyward sword link both had to become the first heroes of their time therefore obtain their own triforce mark...

Do research on the series..it'll make sense to you.


(timeline after he leaves the future in OOT)
Ocarina of time-Windwaker

(Timeline where the hero dissappears but lives on therfore having more children spreading the bloodline)
Ocarina of Time-Majoras Mask-??????????????-Twilight princess (oot link trains the new hero...ever notice that whenever you summon him (the gold wolf) you have to play a song from oot or majoras mask?)

TP is its own story. I know its a pain cause its so freakin long, but you gotta see the story of WW. I know this because my all time favorite link is OoT, and since WW threw hints of what happned to him I was like super obssesed with the hints, especially when you can read the Hylian text.

Oh man as soon as I saw your pic on the forums index i grew an instant smile. Prolly the only time ill enjoy talking politics of any sort.

Windwaker does not come after Majoras mask...i'm not saying he became a stalfos right away....windwaker is in a different time line pal. It's official. not what you think...-__- you're killing me...oh and soul calibur has ZERO relevance to the series..dude I've beaten every Zelda 3D zelda title to near perfection. You seriously need to look at the official hyrule historia timeline...the games don't go in release order. I am done with this topic. Buh bye.

Umm, Wind Waker SPECIFICALLY states and mentions OoT. It does!

4swords is another timeline yes, but WW is part of Oot and MM(mm only cause they mention that he left). Soul Caliber 2 is as close an ending as we will get to what happened to OoT Link.

Play WW dood. that or youtube it. WW connects with OoT. Game says it. Strategy Guide says it. The creator himself said it. WW is 100 years after OoT. Even for the sake of argument lets say ooT Link IS the stalfos in TP. If that was the case then Nintendo had created a inconsistency. It would be same thing Konami is doing to Silent Hill. Did you play these games as they were coming out, or did you get them randomly? I bought these as they were coming out so I knew what was going on.

Ok, so I read up on Hyrule Historia, and....I am very upset.

They busted a "silent Hill" on my most cherished series. Its garbage. Its sad that Ounuma himself made this garbage. I dont know what to say. Its a lazy timeline. I am encouraging ALL of you out there to play the games and write down notes, because obviously when Ounuma was overlooking this book, he wasnt doing it good enough. My God! The blatant inconsistencies! ugh!

It actually makes sense if you play skyward sword...and think about it....since he left the future in oot...there was no hero...that future continued which lead to windwaker and the events before it. Yes WW is 100 yrs after ocarina of time's ADULT (future) Timeline, after link goes home.Remember ganon was only sealed away he eventually comes back. The ganon in TP is the one from young link's timeline who never got a hold of the triforce because he told zelda about what would happen. The TP link is a descendant of the OOT young link...The heroes shade (OOT LINK) actually hints at being his father which could be slightly true..."go on and do not falter my child" when he passes on and grants you the title of the hero right before the final dungeon.


He also mentions ho he was not ready to be a hero when he was young but accepted it (OOT reference) in earlier encounters. oh and he has a cracked black master sword in his hands when training you.

If anything I love the series more after the timeline was revealed..I dunno...i'd look further into it. This little argument has been fun, lol.
 
Anything goes now. I really wish theyd look into the games instead of their cliff notes. Oh well. Youre right. I mean, whatever the creator's say makes it canon, its their franchise. The one thing that made me not belive the book is their "3rd time split". That was soooo stupid. cmon! You should read this thread below:

Its fascinating, these people go WAY into detail. I enjoyed reading the first 7 pages but it was like 2am and I was tired and mad. This is the official Hyrule democrat/republican-style debate.

As long as we are going by the Hyrule Historia book, dont forget when Sonic was the secret sage they briefly talked about when inside the castle.
