I feel more people will use onboard video on a CPU until the video card shortage caused by cryptocurrency/Bitcoin miners buying most of the fast video cards is over. Most very cheap video cards may not be much better or worse than the video chip on Intel Core i3 CPUs, and there is a chance that the cheaper and older fast video cards like the Nvidia GTX 750 and 650 are also being bought by Cryptominers once the more expensive cards are sold out.

I bet, once cryptocurrency miners find a way to cheaply use the onboard video to mine cryprocurrencies there maybe a CPU shortages with faster onboard video chips like the AMD A10 APU processor with a AMD Radeon HD 7660D video chip.

You can read more about the video card shortage at CryptoCurrency Miners Causing VR-Ready Graphics Card Shortage which say faster videocards such as Nvidia GeForce 1080s and AMD RX580s are in short supply because they are being bought by Crypto mining companies which mine cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

The video card shortage can cause problems with the third-world since a lot of people living in poorer places like to play PC games since there is less things to do like go to the amusement parks in the 3rd world, so PC games and the internet is one of the few ways poor people relax, or make their life slightly better for a few hours a day. The internet and a computer maybe one of the few ways to earn money by selling apps, making online videos, and selling stuff and services online to earn enough money to buy a basic boat or plane ticket to travel to Europe, and the US which is better than most parts of Africa and the Middle East.

lf Cryptocurrency mining becomes very popular where almost every big company, and rich person is mining for cryptocurrency, the world's supply of computer parts like video card, CPU, RAM, SSD, hard drive, motherboard, etc will have a shortage problem because rich people and companies are buying all the parts to mine for cryptocurrency.

The computer parts shortage will make it harder for most average people to be able to afford to buy a PC if the shortage becomes worse, so people in the third world will need to spend more money for a computer to use to access the internet, do work, or open and create offline files like a movie file saved to a usb flash drive.

If the computer parts shortage problems becomes worse, used, refurbished, and cheap computers and computer parts maybe bought to be used for cryptocurrency mining. Many slower computers can be network together to make mining for cryprocurrency faster by using a cluster PC network where many PCs of different performance levels are networked together to increase the performance of the whole network, and processing power.

Once the desktop and server computer parts have a larger shortage, miners may start using smartphone/tablet CPU and video chips found in the iPhone, iPad, and Google Android smartphone and tablets to start mining more cryptocurrency with mobile devices.
