Just between you and me (nobody else is supposed to know that), I am currently developing my own forum system too.
It's currently in very early stages, so it might come out after v2 of this site comes out, so maybe a nice one for v3?

not bad of a preview. I always thought I stick with IPB but here I am on Xenforo. Can't make any promises that I jump ship again but you never know down the line.
And pro tip for making your own forum, features. Features, features, features. Need to have a lot and you need to make it so they can be easily added/customized.
I'm perfectly aware of it, but the main focus now is to port all the already existing features over from YamiBoard, which is the previous forum system that's no longer in development.
Once that is done, we can talk new features again (I have some revolutionary stuff in mind, you'll see when the time comes).
