How many of you guys hate doing laundry here?

I hate doing laundry and not to mention that moments, when the washing machine is out of order, you will have to deal with so much at once ><

I don't mind doing laundry. Since the washer and dryer do most of the work, it's tolerable. I just hate doing dishes because you have to touch some nasty looking stuff, even if you have a washing machine.

I don't like doing it but I still end up doing it (unless you want me to show up in smelly cloths).

Finally, we hired a maid for it.
I got very busy and couldn't do most of the house chores these days....

I wish I could hire a maid....

Anyways, I don't mind doing it. Its actually a rather simple job. now cleaning the bathroom, that is something I want a maid for.

I feel doing laundry can sometimes be fun when trying a new laundry washing machine and washing detergent. But, finding time to do laundry can be a problem for people who don't have much free time because of work, school, volunteering, church, pets, and social activities like going to parties and sporting events.

folding aside, it can take 5 mins max to do laundry.

I think it depends on how many clothes you have, and how fast your hands are. It could take less than 5 minutes for people with fast hands and only own a few pieces of clothing.

Over here....maid isn't exclusive for a household.
She works in more than one house....more like 10-20 houses. So, it's kinda common to hire a maid here.

I see.
Guess that explains why people believe that I am from a very rich household, the moment I mention something related to maid and cleaning

I think maids in North America are also used by some disabled and injured people like people who broke their arms and older adults who are 70 years old or older with health problems which prevent them from lifting clothes into a laundry machine. A lot of disabled people now dont have children, friends, or other family members who live near them or want to help them clean things, so hiring a maid maybe their only way to wash clothes because of their health problems.

I see.
Well, usually the maid who cleans clothes and the maid who cleans the dishes and house are different here....

I think more people in North America are now using house keeping websites/apps to hire people to wash dishes and do other chores. I saw stories on tv news of people getting in trouble with the law for not paying their maid/house keeper enough money and mistreating them, so using a website to hire a maid for a few hours or less may make customer less likely to get in trouble with the law for not paying the maid enough money sort of like how a lot of people use Uber to hire a driver to drive them somewhere instead of hiring a professional driver where the boss can get sued by the driver if the driver feels he is being underpaid or working conditions are unsafe.

Over here, maids demand more.
As working people can't take care of everything, they would have no choice but to give into those demands

I can see a maid being popular in countries where almost everyone is needs to work for over 12 hours per day, and take files and office work home to work, or work in a call center where they spend most of their day listening to tech support phone calls for most of the day.

I reading an article on a news website that said electronic smartphone factories make their workers work for most of the day with very little rest, and they live in factory apartments. I think these factories may hire cleaning staff to wash workers apartment, cook, and wash their work uniforms because the workers are spending most of their day working very hard in a factory where the working conditions are bad.

I see
That makes sense. But usually companies don't hire maids for employees though....as far as I know...
