The first game I got with my 3DS was 'Super Mario 3D Land' but I was very disappointed with it. I felt that it's too easy and boring. The next games I got are :

*Zelda: Ocarina of Time
*Luigi's Mansion 2

*Mario Kart 7

What are some games that would go on for a long time but at the same time enjoyable? Thanks in advance :link:

Well, Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the sort of game that will take all year (providing you don't time travel) to complete it 100%, it's a very relaxing casual game that doesn't require much skill ^^ Unfortunately, the game does get repetitive after time depending on how you choose to make your bells!

Another game is Fire Emblem: Awakening, I have been playing that game for a while and I love the storyline behind the game :D I am still yet to finish it after around 50 hours I believe, though that is mainly as I've restarted 5 times before finishing the game >.<

If you're wanting a game that is pretty hard I'd say go for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, you need to get a strategy to kill the bigger monsters, learn how they attack so you don't die too early, you also have to get resources to make things such as armour, weapons and potions -potions are vital! Unfortunately, I find the game boring after a while as it's alot of stress to kill one monster most of the time...

Hope this helps! :D

Thanks ! I've been thinking of getting Animal Crossing or Tales of the Abyss. I'm a big fan of Paper Mario on the N64 but the 3DS version doesn't seem promising, or is it?

Tales of the Abyss was better on PS2. It had a lot more to offer there due to the system difference.

Super Mario 3D Land I agree with you 100%.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is one of the best options - I'd say THE best - like Mouse said, due to the amount of things to do and gameplay time as well as replay value and online multiplayer features.

Heroes of Ruin is a 6 1/2 hour long Diablo-clone with 4-player online co-op story as well as integrated voice-chat communications - which are really a great help!

Luigi's Mansion 2 is a lot of fun but got boring fast for me - especially since the online multiplayer is so glitchy. Single Player Storymode was great though.

Fire Emblem: Awakening was the best tactical I've ever played, to me, anyway. I've played a LOT of tactical games and thought nothing would ever top Eternal Eyes for PSX - especially since I was not a fan of the two GBA Fire Emblem games.

Seems like I'll get Animal Crossing then Tales of the Abyss for now. Will add Heroes of Ruin and Fire Emblem to the list later on!

I also got bored from Luigi's Mansion, still didn't beat the game yet. I haven't tried the multiplayer mode yet but will do.

Two games I feel are MUSTS for any 3DS collections are Fire Emblem: Awakening and Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Even though many people bash on it, I still love Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Sure, it's very different from the other Paper Mario games, but I still found it very enjoyable.

Well, I don't know if you like Virtual Console games, but the Legend of Zelda games and Metroid games in the eShop never get old to me and are cheap compared to retail games. I also agree with Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Fire Emblem; Awakening, and Tales of the Abyss.

Do you mind telling us what you thought of Mario Kart 7?

I already got some virtual console games from the shop. Nostalgic ! To be honest, Mario Kart 7 is the most enjoyable 3DS game I got so far. You never get bored from it. It's a must have for any 3DS collection.

Well that's music to my ears! That's the only game I've abstained from buying so far, but it looks like I should get it some time.

The only game I've bought that I would not recommend getting is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. Unless you are a huge fan of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, I would not get this game. In fact, it seems a little late to get into the series because the best games are kind of dated now so it wouldn't be as appealing. ...But I digress, haha. :P

Thanks for the warning ! It never appealed to me anyway, the Pokemon Dungeon series. It would be really cool if they bring back the original Pokemon series on 3DS.
