About anime shows and genres

Hi!

One of the things I love about anime is that you can this cool mixture of genres that you can't get in western media. For example, my favorite anime (as you can probably tell) is Cowboy Bebop, and one of the things that drew me in was the cool mixture of western and sci-fi.

I was thinking that now that I have some free time I could give another show a go, but I want something similar, can you help me?

Well, you can try space dandy, though its more goofy than serious like bebop was.

Maybe Planetes and Ghost in the Shell. Can't think of any. But also try Baccano!
