With the lack of ads being displayed on a dying tv service, at lessening sports events ads had to find a new home right? Well Twitch is rolling out (currently in beta test) the ads you see an example of above.

“Beginning in September, as part of an ad experiment, some viewers may begin to notice that they are receiving ads during streams that others in a channel aren’t receiving,” the company wrote on its website. “Like pre-rolls, these are ads triggered by Twitch, not by the creator.”

Hopefully, the ads are not too annoying or long.

I feel banner ads which don't block the video would be better than pre-roll ads.

In that case, that is awful. Won't be surprised if they roll it back over the coming weeks. The whole point of watching a live stream is that its live and there aren't any disturbances.

Who are people going to leave Twitch for over this?

Well, if you are subbed to that channel then you do not get ads unless the streamer does 60 or more break ads. But ads are just crazy as flip. want to watch and get ads COME ON. They making allot of money from it anyway twitch/amazon.

Ads can get pretty annoying. But, I think if the streamers earn more money, their game streams maybe more entertaining to watch, or they can donate some of the money from ads to a charity.

Hopefully, smaller Twitch streamers get a reasonable percentage of the money from Twitch ads, so they can afford computer upgrades, better lighting and a nicer webcam, microphone, decorations for their streaming room, and prizes for contests hosted on their Twitch channel.

People off click when ads go on for so long, keep that in mind

Hopefully, the ads are gaming related, or ads for products like computer parts which more viewers are more likely to be interested in instead of random ads for products like Cable TV subscriptions which viewers on Twitch are less interested in.

I don't use ad-block and allot that do use it. It's unfair if you are running ads in your blogs or site and you not getting anything from it since most of the traffic use ad-blocker. But end of the day google makes more

Yeah it's hard to make any money from adsense because of the amount of people who use it . However, YouTube it seems like the constantly display ads with our without a blocker.
