The Xbox is now officially a pornography machine. Well, sort of. It's now officially an Internet machine, which means it can be used to stream free pornography.

The folks behind porn site YouPorn are taking advantage of the fact that the Xbox 360 will soon get Internet Explorer (currently available to beta participants) to pimp out their streaming services. They even hacked up the above image to show what it could be like if YouPorn had its very own Xbox app.

I asked Microsoft how they feel about their family-friendly console becoming an evil machine for pornography and sin. Here's their statement:

To be clear, we are adding Internet Explorer to Xbox Live, not specific adult content providers like YouPorn or any other specific website content. Additionally, we give members and parents the option to turn this feature on or off for their accounts. Access to Internet Explorer for all Child accounts is blocked by default.

I'm surprised MS would allow this.
 
Why are you surprised? Are you saying that Microsoft wouldn't add IE to the Xbox just because it might mean people can see porn? That's silly. All someone needs to do is go on their PC, phone, tablet etc and look at porn, it really is no different from getting access to the internet anywhere else.

Also, porn is not illegal (with exception of child porn). It's not my cup of tea but it's not illegal.

Family-friendly console, LMFAO, some of the games aren't "family-friendly"!!!
 
But no-one has actually said they will be having their own App. Streaming porn doesn't mean there will be an app involved. You can stream porn just by using Internet Explorer if you know where to go.

Sounds like they want to to me. I'd be surprised if Microsoft allows it.
 
Yeah I think all this adult content and family friendly stuff is bull. Half the games aren't family friendly so classing the console as a family friendly entertainment is laughable. I doubt an app would be allowed, but if people want porn its easy to find it elsewhere so this aint like crime of the century.
 
Wait a minute here cant the Playstation 3 connect to the internet off course it can so you can browse the internet so basicly it can do the same thing.At least microsoft have gave the option to turn off that feature on your Xbox 360 if you dont want to view the porn sites
