Am I the only one who doesn't find Phantos scary?

Because while they're annoying as hell, they never really creeped me out much. Yes they're floating demon masks that chase Mario and co when they pick up a key, but they're pretty basic as far as visual style goes, and can actually be killed quite easily with a star or the key itself.

If you've forgotten, this is a Phanto:

And I admit I see how some people might be a tad creeped out by this background (I personally find it pretty cool):

But is it really that scary as an enemy?

They're not really scary. The first time I played Super Mario Advance and it chased me I was scared because I didn't know it was going to chase me then it killed me without warning. Since then they annoyed me more than they did scare me.

2. always find him in random places a secret door or jump in the pile. question why would you throw a mask in the pile ..

I was creeped out by the Phantos when I was younger, although it wasn't so much the image of the thing but the noise it makes whenever it's near you...ethereal type music. Plus I didn't know you could kill the thing, so the invincibility made it creepier. I will say that even today I prefer not to kill the darn thing because it's annoying to hit such a fast moving target, and besides that, I've always beaten the game with them chasing me...so why change a tried-and-true method?

Anyway, I didn't know people WERE scared of phantos in a way that's not like "Oh no, I better hurry or I'll die" sort of fear.
