Have you ever noticed how the same people who are appalled at violent videogames and entertainment seem not bothered by actual violence, as long as it's committed by people in uniforms? You're not the only one. University of Michigan Prof. Brad Bushman, a noted researcher into media violence issues, has issues with the United States Government using a violent videogame (America's Army) to recruit soldiers, specifically, his complaint that the depictions of army life in the game are sanitized versions of the real thing.
"The video game does provide a sanitized view of violence. For example, when you shoot someone or when you are shot you see a puff of blood; you don’t see anyone suffering or writhing in pain," Bushman told ABC.
