SEGA of America and SEGA of Europe announced their plans today to partner with High Voltage Software in publishing the highly anticipated Wii title, The Conduit, MarketWatch reports. The Conduit has received much praise in its earnestness in creating the defining first-person shooter experience for Nintendo's flagship console. Since E3 this year, each screenshot and trailer of the game's development has led to more anticipation in the fans of the project, and led to many awards for its showing in Los Angeles.

SEGA seems to be making all of the right moves. When many seemed to be waiting for Nintendo themselves to announce that they were publishing the game, SEGA stepped up and hopped all over the opportunity. SEGA, publishers of Wii titles like MadWorld, NiGHTS, Let's Tap, The House of the Dead: Overkill, and Ghost Squad, makes a perfect home for The Conduit. With 80+ titles rated by the ESRB on the Wii and Virtual Console, it's safe to say SEGA likes the Wii, and are always ready to put another game on the platform.

Simon Jeffery, SEGA of America President, says, "The Conduit is one of the most talked-about Wii games this year and High Voltage Software has only scratched the surface of the game in terms of what they have shown so far. They have proven that graphical and technological innovation can be exciting to the Wii market, and SEGA is thrilled to partner with a team that truly shares our belief in the Wii's gaming potential beyond the casual market." And with games like MadWorld, SEGA makes for one of the best choices in publishers that High Voltage could have made.

We likely won't see any crazy changes to the game on SEGA's behalf, as High Voltage Software originally announced that they only intended to look for a publisher as the game was already nearing completion. As long as Shadow the Hedgehog isn't making an appearance. It is currently slated for a Spring 2009 release.
